We verify and onboard
We confirm the configuration and your connection, then walk you through the host setup: a dedicated macOS install, our provisioning agent, and the availability windows you chose.

The machine earns while it is idle
Renters book 4-hour slots inside your windows. The machine is wiped and re-imaged after every slot, and you are paid per slot that gets booked.

Nothing is bookable outside the hours you set. Change them whenever you like — the schedule is yours, not ours.
Full wipe between renters
Each slot ends with a complete erase and re-image before the next renter gets credentials. Renters never see each other's data, and they never see yours.

We do not ask for bank or tax details during the application. We ask once your first slot is actually booked — there is nothing to collect before that.
FAQ
The questions worth asking first.
Does renting it out wear the machine down?+
It adds run hours. Apple silicon Mac Studios have no moving parts other than the fan, and sustained load at normal room temperature is what they are built for — but a machine that runs 12 hours a day is not a machine that idles at the desktop, and you should expect fan hours and thermal cycles to accumulate. If the machine is under AppleCare or you are planning to resell it soon, factor that in.
What does it cost me in electricity?+
A Mac Studio under sustained load draws roughly 100–300W depending on the chip and workload. At 12 hours a day and US average residential rates, that is typically single-digit to low-double-digit dollars a month. Your payout per slot is set well above that, but the power bill is yours, so check your own rate.
How much bandwidth does it use?+
It varies entirely with what the renter does. Most workloads are CPU/GPU-bound with modest transfer, but a renter pulling large datasets can move tens of gigabytes in a slot. If you are on a metered or capped connection, tell us in your application — we can cap or exclude your machine rather than surprise you.
Can a renter get at my files or my network?+
The machine runs a dedicated macOS install used only for rentals, wiped between slots, and is network-isolated from the rest of your LAN as part of onboarding. We do not put renters on a machine that also holds your personal data — if you cannot dedicate the machine, it is not a fit.
When and how do I get paid?+
Per booked slot, aggregated and paid out monthly for the previous month's slots. We collect your payout details after your first slot is booked, not before. Unbooked availability does not pay — you are paid for slots that were actually used.
What machines are eligible?+
Mac Studios in the four tiers we rent: M2 Max (32GB), M3 Ultra (96GB), M4 Ultra (128GB), M4 Ultra (256GB). The machine needs a wired internet connection, a stable power source, and to be dedicated to rentals during your availability windows. US locations only for now.
What if nobody books my machine?+
Then you earn nothing that month, and you have lost nothing but the power it drew while idle. Demand is being built now — the honest position is that early owners will see partial utilisation, not the calculator's ceiling.
Who is responsible if the machine breaks?+
The hardware stays yours, and so does its warranty. If a failure is caused by something we did, we cover it; ordinary hardware failure is on the owner, the same as it would be if the machine sat on your desk. We will tell you before onboarding exactly what our agent does to the machine.
